I wanted to create the set because I wanted to get a new experience to theatre. In our group, I was also given the tasks of props and costume, as we didn't have anyone else down for doing those roles.
I want to try and source as much as we can ourselves so we don't have to spend too much money.
Costumes:
As our performance is beginning in a school, I have decided that they will be in white school shirts, different coloured ties with black skirt or trousers. Underneath their white shirts they will be wearing a coloured top (same colour as their tie) with their letter on it (P.S.H.E). The shirts will be taken off for the party scene, leaving them in the coloured tops with black bottoms. The extras (Fran, Colm, Amber and I) will always be in full black. This is so that the focus is not on us.
Set:
I have spoken to Darius about what he wants for the set. Most of it consists of tables and chairs, with the four colours of the characters clothes (red, blue, green and yellow) in tape, to put on the floor to separate sections.
Props:
Some of the props include;
Cloth
Broom
Exam papers
Pens, paper, pencils
Football
School bags
Drinks
Notebook
As Fran has been recently ill, it has fallen to me to make the purposed budget. I want to spend as little as possible. Here is a copy of my purposed budget plan.

I stuck closely to the budget, and I think I only went over by about £4. I wanted to source as much as I could without having to buy much. The process of finding the little things sometimes proved difficult.
I had to write the note form Tom's mum, which got lost on the day of the first show, so I quickly had to make another one. I used the bags from our 'Camp Bestival' piece for the four main characters school bags. I had a white board pen however that got lost too, and I didn't realise also until the first show. We nearly lost the broom as well. I always made sure everything that was a prop was either in my union jack bag, or it was in the four main performers bags. The four main actors were meant to be in charge of their own props and costumes, however that didn't always happen. For the second performance we had more bottles. Sometimes it was stressful, trying to make sure all the props were in the right place at the beginning of the show, and if anything went wrong (the note incident in the first performance) how we would deal with it. Although, not much did go wrong in the way of props, set and costume, and so I am happy of what I have achieved and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to do something else other than just performing.
